The Sactuary

The space we make sacred through our practice.

Join Richelle and other practitioners on a one-day deep dive into different facets of yoga. With the Moon in Pisces, we’ll be exploring the element of Water: its ability to dissolve, break down, and simplify. Through three distinct practices, you’ll access your physical body, your mind body, your breath body, your vibrational body, and your quiet body. In between these sessions there will be time for food, space for solitude or commiseration, and surrender in the soaking spa.

| Space |

Our journey through the tides will take place at the Society Hotel in Bingen, WA. This little enclave is across the bridge from Hood River, before you head up the hill into White Salmon. The hotel is re-imagined school grounds replete with a relaxing library, nourishing cafe/coffee shop, and soaking spa.

| Practice |

We’ll gather in The Sanctuary, an Earth-dome nestled into the hillside overlooking the Cabin Ring and Spa. Our morning practice will serve as the Rising Tide—a foundation of activating our feeling and moving body through held asanas (postures), as well as our thinking mind through prompted writing exercises. Our midday session will offer the High Tide; a warmer flow of movements we explored in our first session, along with specific pranayama (breath) to keep the momentum going even in stillness. We’ll ebb back down with our evening session, using mantra (chant), pranayama, and mediation techniques to support the continued dissolution we initiated through the day.

Below is a likely timeline for our adventure. (Subject to change.)

Friday

9:00-9:15 | meet n greet, cake n coffee (obviously)

9:15-10:45 | opening circle + writing + asana

11-1 Free Time | Spa (10 reserved at 11, 10 reserved at 12), Lunch (not included)

1-3 | asana + pranayama

3-3:45 | break time

4:00-6 | mantra + meditation + closing circle

If you choose to stay…

The Bunk Rooms offer simple comfort in community.

| Lodging |

While this is designed as a one-day immersion, you may like to arrive a day early or stay the night after we finish. If that’s the case, I highly recommend reserving a bunk in the River or Mountain Rooms—the best hostel set up you’ll see in the US. They are affordable, well appointed and super comfy.

The Society Hotel also offers private rooms with shared baths, or private cabins that can accommodate groups.

(This is not included in your retreat fee.)
