Not Your Average Relaxation Massage

Richelle's journey into her bodywork career began early, motivated by her experience of pain. As a young child, she watched her mother endure the debilitating results of injuries sustained in a car accident, at the same time dealing with her own congenital chronic pains. As a freshman in high school, she discovered a deep resonance with the anatomy and physiology of the human body. She was trained to work with athletes at her school, learning about injury prevention and rehabilitation, and for three years was the primary resource for the varsity teams as their Student Athletic Trainer. Her knowledge and hands-on skills deepened and focused when she enrolled in massage school, and her passion for both healing and teaching were ignited in full. Through immersive self-care, she discovered techniques—including massage therapy, yoga, energy and spirit medicine, and Traditional Chinese Medicine—that were deeply healing to her own chronic and degenerative conditions, beyond what Western medicine could provide.

Since then she has worked extensively with many conditions; accidents and major injuries, complex structural dysfunctions, pre- and post-surgical support, degenerative conditions, and postural/movement dysfunctions. Her clients range from professional athletes needing prevention and rehab, to geriatrics seeking relief from chronic pain. In her two-plus decades working with these varied clients, she has developed a unique approach to bodywork that combines the technical, physical medicine of massage with an intuitive engagement of the subtle body and guidance to help you find your most supportive and sustainable ways of moving. Her treatments are individually tailored, integrating different Western and Eastern medical theories, and are intent on finding the root issues of your pain and dysfunction. Their focus on addressing particular areas of need is balanced by Richelle’s broader vision of the many layers of your experience and her attention to the nervous system, mental body, and emotional body, leaving you feeling wholly connected.
