Intensive Study of the Shoulder: Advanced Training for Teachers

April 6 - April 8

This immersive workshop is one module in the 300-hour teacher training offered by Three Trees Yoga, but is open to any teacher seeking a deeper understanding of the structure and nature of the body in reference to teaching yoga.

Having technical knowledge is only useful if we have a way to bring to class in a functional manner. This class aims to refine your current anatomical-knowledge base, and offer the opportunity to integrate it effectively into your yoga classes. Emphasis will always be on preventing injury on the mat by making this information relevant to your current and future students, leaving you better equipped to design practices that reduce risk from the get-go. Learn potent observation skills that will lead to more effective and personalized adjustments.

We’ll cover, specific to the hip and lower extremity:

  • fundamental physiology and kinesiology
  • common conditions, individual differences, and risk factors for injury
  • integrating technical knowledge into your teaching
  • approaches to sequencing, adaptation and adjustment
  • breakout sessions: brainstorming, creative learning, co-teaching, hands on adjustments

Registration will open soon for this session, please check in on the Three Trees Yoga site to ensure you get on the roster.
